25 August 2011 – Andy Horvath

We are delighted to announce that Andy Horvath has been appointed as a Director to the firm. Andy will continue to service and grow his existing client base, and remains the principal contact for clients previously represented by Dennis Hull.

30 April 2011 – Office Move

Our offices at Erdington and Sutton Coldfield have now all successfully been relocated to our Kingstanding Road office. The contact number for all Malcolm Piper and Company clients is now 0121-382-1000, and for Boden Piper clients, 0121-377-3322.

31 August 2010 – Boden Piper Limited

On 31 August 2010 Malcolm Piper and Company took a controlling interest in Boden Piper Limited. This business has purchased Boden Leighton & Co, a well established management accounting practice based in Sutton Coldfield.

The business specialises in the provision of management accounting and related bookkeeping services. These services can include, if required, the provision, of a full ‘back office’ accounting function incorporating full transaction processing, debt management, including credit control, and cash management.

‘Many smaller organisations struggle with the day to day complexities involved in the tax system, and obtaining useful management information in relation to the performance of their businesses. In addition they find it difficult and costly to employ adequately qualified staff to perform the necessary back office functions’ commented Andrew Davis from Malcolm Piper and Company. He continued, ‘We believe that providing this professional expertise in a cost effective package will appeal to a wide range of business, and provide those business owners with more time to develop their trade, free of the compliance and administrative burdens’.

Gordon Boden said ‘My primary aim as I reduce my involvement in the business is to ensure the continuity of service for clients of my practice. The creation of Boden Piper Limited ensures this, and I am confident that the new business will continue to build on the reputation of Boden Leighton & Co’.

All of the staff of Boden Leighton & Co will continue to work from the offices at 1, Reddicap Trading Estate, Sutton Coldfield, B75 7BU. Russell Mallen ,who has worked in the business for the last 24 years will manage the operation of the business, and the principal, Gordon Boden will continue to be involved in the business as a consultant.

1 May 2010 – Dennis J Hull & Co

On 1 May 2010 we acquired the practice of Dennis Hull & Co, Dennis has a well established local accountancy office in Erdington, which he has run for many years.

Dennis has decided it is time that he reduces his day to day involvement, and is working with us to ensure that his clients continue to enjoy the same level of service from Malcolm Piper and Company that he has provided to them previously.

Dennis commented ‘I have taken a great deal of time and trouble to find the best firm to merge with, and am very confident that in Malcolm Piper and Company I have found a solid and well established firm who will continue to provide the efficient and friendly service you have come to expect from Dennis Hull & Co. Additionally, they will bring some specialist areas of expertise to my firm, particularly in tax planning, capital gains tax and inheritance tax which will enhance the services we already provide’

All of the staff of Dennis Hull & Co continue to work from the offices in Erdington, which will remain open for the foreseeable future.
